The Russians have accumulated a large number of tactical aircraft near the border with Ukraine. Western analysts talked about the accumulation of up to 450 assault and tactical aircraft.
Andrey Kramarov, a military expert and air defense specialist, spoke about this on Channel 24 . He said that the Russians had plans for air raids on the territory of Ukraine, but they had to abandon them.
Kramarov said that the basis of Russian fighter aircraft are the Su-30 and Su-34, which are practically the same type. The difference is that the Su-34 aircraft has a more advanced launch system and can be launched unaided.
The “Great Offensive” has begun
The military expert said that for the past two weeks the enemy has already been using tactical aircraft, in particular, this can be seen in the reports of the General Staff. Every day, we see that there are downed Su-25, Ka-52, Mi-24, MiG-35 aircraft.
The fact that they began to use tactical aviation, that is, fighters, very expensive equipment, is one of the signs that the “big offensive” that we were told about has already begun, the expert added.

Pilots refrain from air raids
According to Kramarov, now we can conclude that the enemy is not going to use this aircraft for massive strikes. And earlier there was information that the enemy planned to carry out massive air raids on the territory of Ukraine, where hostilities are not taking place now.
They say that they refused, first of all, the pilots. The generals had such plans, and starting from the commanders of their regiments, aviation chains, etc. they say they simply refused, because evaluating our modern air defense system, it would be just suicidal,” the military expert emphasized.
Russian aviation on the border: what is known
- The Financial Times, citing Western intelligence, reported that Russia was stockpiling planes near the border with Ukraine.
- Piontkovsky suggested that aircraft could act in waves. The first wave is suicide, Japanese kamikaze. They will have to reveal all the positions of the Ukrainian air defense and die. The next wave should try to destroy the Ukrainian air defense. And then, as in Syria, the Russians want to bomb the city with high-explosive bombs with impunity.
- Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, noted that now there is no significant increase in the number of enemy aircraft, which fundamentally influenced the course of the war. He also stressed that even if the Russians start to lift more planes into the sky, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will destroy everything.
