11 years ago, Russian invaders began destroying Aleppo, an ancient Syrian city with a rich history. Now they are also wiping out Ukrainian Mariupol.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his speech at the 20th Doha Forum, which is being held in Qatar, Channel 24 reports. According to him, if the evil is not stopped in time, it will spread like a virus.

Russia “repeats” Aleppo in Mariupol

We see this in the example of the actions of Russia, which 11 years ago destroyed the pearl of the Middle East – the city of Aleppo. Then Putin's henchmen brutally bombed the city, and their ally Assad Bashar attacked people with chemical weapons. The war turned Aleppo into ruins and mass graves.

Now Russia continues to commit the same war crimes in our Mariupol, which combined the rich cultures of the ancient Greeks, Ottomans, Crimean Tatars and Cossacks. Rashists literally compare the Ukrainian city to the ground.

Take a look at our Mariupol. This is what we have already seen in Aleppo. Ruins, pain, destruction of people,” Zelensky stressed.

A real disaster has come in Mariupol: there is no food, water, medicine. The Russian army bombs the city around the clock and at the same time does not let humanitarian aid through.

90% of all buildings in Mariupol are destroyed. Thousands of people died. But Russia did not receive any tangible punishment from the world for this,” the President described the horrors of the situation in Mariupol.

The President also noted that Ukraine is a country of diversity, so different ethnic groups and religions have always coexisted peacefully in our country.

“There are more than a million Muslims in our country. Russian missiles and bombs are death and a threat to all our people, including them. About 4 thousand Muslims lived in Mariupol blocked by Russian troops alone. For 3 weeks in the Mariupol mosque more than 80 people are hiding, including women, children, elderly people,” Zelensky addressed the members of the Doha Forum.
