Ukraine's Western allies will jointly supply Kyiv with long-range weapons.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this, writes AFP.

— We are creating a new coalition of long-range artillery forces, — Chancellor Scholz said at a press conference together with French Head of State Emmanuel Macron and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Berlin.

He opened a press conference in Berlin with the words that Germany, France and Poland support Ukraine, but these countries are not at war with Russia.

— One thing is clear: we support Ukraine. It is also clear that we are not at war with Russia. Our common goal is and remains to ensure that Ukraine can effectively defend itself against Russian aggression. Germany, France and Poland are committed to this, together with their allies and partners in Europe and across the Atlantic. And we will not abandon our obligations, — noted Scholz.

Scholz on helping Ukraine

He noted that countries will purchase more weapons for Ukraine on the world market, and with partners they will increase the production of military equipment in our country.

In the context of agreements to support Ukraine, Scholz listed the main agreed initiatives:

  • purchase even more military equipment for Ukraine on the entire world market;
  • expand weapons production, in particular in cooperation with partners in Ukraine;
  • create a new coalition of long-range rocket artillery within the Ramstein format;
  • increase support within the European Union (a €5 billion Fund has been agreed to reimburse member countries for weapons provided).

Recall that on March 14, the Bundestag again failed to pass the question of the transfer of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine to achieve success on the battlefield against invaders.
