Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that the number of long-range operations with strikes on critical targets deep in Russia will increase “several times.”
He announced this at a meeting with journalists on June 27.
Umerov announced an increase in strikes deep into Russia
Last year, Ukraine developed a plan for systemic long-range operations and signed contracts for tens of thousands of long-range drones, the defense minister said.

This made it possible to systematically deliver “high-precision strikes on critical targets deep within enemy territory.”
“About two weeks ago, a decision was made to increase the number of operations several times, and the contracting of tens of thousands of new long-range drones is already being prepared in order to increase the intensity and scale of the strikes,” the Defense Ministry reported.
Umerov also noted that Ukraine is actively developing its own drone production. According to him, Ukrainian enterprises have already reached a level that allows them to produce more than 4 million drones annually.
“This year we will deliver more than 4 million drones to the front. As of today, the front has already received up to 1.5 million drones – these are all purchases, both by the AOZ, and the State Special Communications Service, and the brigades themselves,” he said.
The minister added that last year they received many requests from brigades to directly allocate funding to them. Therefore, the department worked on this with the Cabinet of Ministers and allocated separate funding for the brigades.
He noted that as of now, UAH 2.5 billion is allocated monthly to brigades so that they can purchase directly.
