Lithuania joined the Czech Republic’s initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine outside the EU countries in order to provide our Defense Forces with the necessary number of shells.
This was reported on the website of the Lithuanian government after telephone conversations between Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte and her Prague counterpart Petr Fiala.
— Lithuania will continue to support all formats of assistance that will increase Ukraine’s ability to effectively defend itself against Russian aggression, thereby protecting the freedom of all of Europe, — emphasized Shimonyte.
Transfer of 800 thousand ammunition to Ukraine
The Czech Republic has found the necessary shells for Ukraine, but this requires additional funding.

Now Prague is gathering a group of partner states that will finance the supply of 800 thousand ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
President Peter Pavel said that he was able to coordinate efforts on this issue with Denmark and Canada, as well as several other countries that did not want to be announced.
