Lithuania joins air defense coalition for Ukraine – Nausėda

Lithuania has joined the coalition of countries that provide assistance to Ukrainian air defense.

The President of Lithuania stated this Gitanas Nauseda.

— I am pleased to announce that Lithuania is joining the air defense coalition led by Germany, France and the United States. We will make our contribution by providing Ukraine with mobile air surveillance radars,” Nauseda wrote on social network X.

He called military support for Ukraine decisive.

Zelensky’s reaction to Lithuania’s decision

President Vladimir Zelensky responded to Nausėda’s statement and wrote that Lithuania’s contribution is “very valuable” for Ukraine.

— Rapidly strengthening Ukraine's air defenses is key to countering Russian aggression, protecting our people, and defending our frontline positions. “I am grateful to Lithuania for helping us achieve these goals and remaining a reliable ally of Ukraine,” Zelensky wrote in X.

Recall that Vladimir Zelensky said that, along with other practical decisions at the NATO summit, which will be held in July, he expects approval of the sending of seven Patriot air defense system.
