On the night of August 9, a massive drone attack in the Russian Federation ended with explosions and a fire at the Lipetsk airfield.

Local governor Igor Artamonov acknowledged this fact only after three o'clock in the morning.
While locals were emotionally talking about the fire at the airfield, the head of the region was more restrained in his messages.
Artamonov still avoids mentioning the airfield. He only reports on the “detonation of explosive objects far from civilian buildings” and “damage to an energy infrastructure facility due to the fall of a UAV”.
However, Artamonov admitted that the region has begun to have problems with the power supply.
According to the governor, the 19th, 23rd, 24th, 27th, 29th microdistricts and Moskovskaya Street were affected by the shutdown.
Artamonov then advised not to respond to calls on social networks and messengers to leave Lipetsk, because this is allegedly the enemy trying to sow panic.
And soon he introduced a state of emergency in the Lipetsk municipal district due to the “detonation of explosive objects” and announced the evacuation of people in the settlements of Koptsevye Khutor, Fedorovka, Yakovlevka, Tynkovka (in total, 416 households were in the evacuation zone).
In addition, traffic in the city was stopped.
Nine locals, Atamonov claims, were injured during the drone attack in Lipetsk.
The governor has already managed to visit them in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry reports the interception and destruction of 19 drones over the Lipetsk region.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine notes that during the strike on Lipetsk airfield on August 9, warehouses with guided aviation bombs and a number of other objects in the area of the airport were hit.
Several ignition sources were recorded, a strong fire occurred and multiple detonations were observed.
Information is being clarified about the possible destruction of Su-34, Su-35 and MiG-31 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces based at Lipetsk airfield.
Units of the missile forces, special operations forces, forces of the Security Service of Ukraine and the forces of unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in the combat operations.
