Summoning rules will probably change after victory. One of the models that are being considered in the security reform of Ukraine is the recruitment of teenagers into the army.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking to students and teachers in Israel, Channel 24 reports.

Zelensky about the possible conscription of students

Now, on the basis of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ukraine is preparing an appropriate security reform. One of the models that is now being considered as a basis is the involvement of students in military affairs, which is practiced in Israel.

He stressed that this is not a final decision, but only one of the options for the development of events. In general, he said, this step will be taken after discussions.

We will consider and discuss with the public, with the public,” the president said.

He stressed that now most Ukrainians know how to handle weapons in their hands. Hundreds of thousands of people joined the territorial defense. Many defended our land with their bare hands, and then with weapons in their hands. All this will affect the upcoming training of Ukrainian military personnel.

As before, in terms of protecting our state and army, as well as the number of military personnel, this will no longer be the case and the approach will be changed for students as well,” Zelensky said.

Reference. Israel is a country protected from attacks by Palestine for half a century. Against this background, after the 12th grade, all students serve in the army. There are exceptions for girls and Orthodox Jews. But even these categories are doing alternative service, not related to the need to take up arms.

What Zelensky emphasized during his speech

Zelensky expressed gratitude to the people of Israel and called on the country's authorities to respond to the aggression and provide us with assistance.

“I am grateful to the people of Israel, I am grateful to you for the sincere and emotional support of the Ukrainians. I am grateful for all the Ukrainian flags that appeared on your streets… For all the words that sounded in our support in your society. I am grateful to your great people. But we would like support from your government. I think this is fair,” he stressed.

He stressed that Luxembourg has provided us with defense support in the amount of 15% of its defense budget. The Baltic countries sent us the right weapon. Even Ireland, with which Ukraine does not have such deep ties as with Israel, has canceled the visa regime for Ukrainians.

Zelensky also recalled that the Israeli authorities suspended the visa-free regime and did not support sanctions against Russia. He noted that he could not condemn these decisions, but urged students to think about these things.
