According to AP, authorities say a ship in the Red Sea caught fire after it was attacked by gunmen who fired guns and grenade launchers.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which comes amid continuing high tensions in the Middle East over the Israel-Hamas war, the Iran-Israel war and US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

However, suspicion immediately fell on Yemen's Houthi rebels, who have attacked ships in the Red Sea corridor in the past.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation.
