Despite Russia's occupation of Ukrainian territories, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang, in negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba during his visit to the PRC, will call for a ceasefire and a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
This conclusion follows from the answer at a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning to the question about Beijing’s expectations from the visit of the Ukrainian top diplomat, the correspondent reports Ukrinforma.
— The Chinese side will continue to stand on the side of peace, support the strengthening of consensus in the international community, and jointly seek real ways to resolve the “crisis in Ukraine” (this is how Russian aggression against Ukraine is called in China, – Ed.) by political methods, — says Mao.

China on the peaceful settlement of the war
As the speaker notes, “China has always been for a ceasefire, and a peaceful resolution of the crisis meets the interests of each side”.
In her response, the Chinese diplomat did not mention the need to comply with the principles of the UN Charter regarding respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, which requires Russia to liberate the occupied Ukrainian territories.
Chinese officials in their statements regarding Russian aggression since February have not mentioned the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine as a prerequisite for ending the war unleashed by the Kremlin, while at the same time generating various kinds of “peace initiatives” ; and “consensus” to resolve the “Ukrainian crisis”, the implementation of which is completely beneficial to Russia.
Recall that on July 23-25, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba will pay a visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Y.
