German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced his country's plans to provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid worth €500 million.
He said this during his visit to Odessa, writes Welt and DPA.

According to Pistorius, Germany plans to continue to support Ukraine in its opposition to Russian aggression.

According to press reports, the new defense aid package should include Leopard tanks, missiles for the IRIS-T air defense system, drones for reconnaissance and combat operations in the Black Sea, as well as spare parts such as spare barrels for artillery systems supplied by Germany, and spare engines for Leopard main battle tanks.
A million small arms ammunition will also be supplied.
The delivery of 18 new wheeled howitzers of the latest design will begin in 2025, the German Defense Minister added.
The head of the German Ministry of Defense emphasized that his country will finance training courses for Ukrainian technical personnel and satellite communications.
Pistorius said he was listing the details to “emphasize that we don't just supply what is in stock”. According to him, special attention was paid to sustainable development, as well as placing orders, which will become a reality only in the coming years.

A week ago, on May 24, Germany announced that it had transferred military aid to Ukraine, which included, among other things, IRIS-T air defense systems.
