by alex

Germany at the end of June — early July secretly sent a large package of military aid to the Ukrainian army — it included tanks, MLRS and ammunition.

This was reported by Merkur.

What equipment did Germany send to Ukraine

So, last week the Ukrainian armed forces received 10 Leopard 1A5 battle tanks and 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles from Germany. Thus, the total number of Marder infantry fighting vehicles has already reached 120 units, and the number of repaired Leopard 1 tanks (1960s) — 50 units. Ammunition for tanks was also transferred.

Air defense for Ukraine

Germany also supplied another IRIS-T SLM air defense system (previously transferred three) and another IRIS-T SLS air defense system (previously transferred one) to protect critical infrastructure and cities.

Three HIMARS

The list also includes three HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. But the Bundeswehr is not armed with HIMARS, but with technically very similar MLRS multiple launch rocket systems, four of which the Ukrainians received in 2022.

In early May, after negotiations between Pentagon head Lloyd Austin and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, it became known that Berlin would finance the delivery of three HIMARS missile and artillery systems from the United States to Ukraine. Berlin's new huge military package now includes these HIMARS.
