Learned from scratch: in Kharkiv, the enterprise produces protection for the military and volunteers

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, according to official data, the occupiers have damaged about 14,000 buildings in the Kharkiv region. Among them are a large number of enterprises. However, resourceful Kharkiv residents find an opportunity to resume production even in such conditions.

According to Anna Chernenko, a correspondent for Channel 24 from Kharkov, enterprises are still operating in the region. For example, the former auto repair shop Ukrainian Spring Center continues its activities. Only now they produce body armor for the military and civilians.

Learned from scratch

According to Chernenko, the workers independently processed the equipment and learned how to make bulletproof vests. First, they were contacted by the police.

They learned from scratch. First, the police turned – they simply asked for spring steel in order to weld the plates themselves. Already at the enterprise, the team said that this was no good. For these plates are not safe. And they themselves began to process and produce protection. Even the first pilot samples were 3 protection classes,” Chernenko noted.

On New Year's Eve, the company received certification. Now they produce plates of the 5th class of protection. Bulletproof vests are received not only by the military and volunteers. For example, once the enterprise made a “bronik” for a barista who prepared coffee on Saltovka, which is often shelled by the occupiers.

Had to move from old place

Now the enterprise operates at new workshops and sites, the location of which is not publicly announced. There were arrivals at the previous place.

I really wanted to help. Having such equipment and experience, we have done something that will accelerate our victory. During this time, about 4,000 bulletproof vests have already been produced,” said Igor Efimenko, director of the Ukrainian Spring Center.

Occupiers fired at pyrotechnics in Kharkiv

  • On the evening of Tuesday, January 10, the Russian invaders once again shelled Kharkov. This time they ended up in a warehouse where pyrotechnics were stored.
  • As Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the Kharkiv OVA, said, according to preliminary data, the shelling came from the Smerch MLRS.
  • As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out on an area of 1,500 square meters. It was liquidated at 4 am.
