In France, the ultra-left Popular Front unexpectedly won the second round of parliamentary elections. The pro-Russian Le Pen got only third place.

Snap parliamentary elections were held after Emmanuel Macron dissolved parliament. He did this precisely because in the European Parliament elections, Marine Le Pen’s right-wing radical National Rally party received about 33% of the votes.

How Le Pen did not get a single key position

“National Rally” and its allies did not receive any key positions in the National Assembly , – noted the journalists.

After all, the bloc of French President Emmanuel Macron united with a coalition of the left and even the right-wing Republican party to prevent Le Pen’s party from receiving important positions.

So, the party of the pro-Russian politician Marais Le Pen did not receive a single position:

• at election of leaders of eight standing commissions of the lower house of the French parliament;
• in the Bureau of the National Assembly – the governing body of parliament.

The leader of the far-right National Rally called it a “shameful act.”

Agreement concluded between the “Macronists” and Laurent Vauquez, to give the latter the representation to which the National Rally has a legitimate right in the Bureau of our Assembly is a shameful maneuver. Almost 11 million voters were thus deprived of the right to vote in favor of a party that won only 1.5 million, Le Pen said.
