Russian Defense Ministry reported on the “successful work of the UAVs”. Thus, they indicated that their forces “pe-ve-o” allegedly shot down 121 drones over regions of their country overnight.

The defense department of the aggressor country claims that the drones were shot down in several regions at once and over temporarily occupied Crimea. Thus, according to the Russian ministry, the following were liquidated:

  • 37 UAVs were “destroyed” in the Bryansk region,
  • 20 – in the Ryazan region,

Also Russian Publics wrote that 37 drones, including 18 jet drones, were allegedly shot down over the Bryansk region. The region's governor, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that there were no casualties.

Publics write that this drone attack was the largest since the beginning of 2025.

Recall that at night, Russians complained about the UAV attack in a number of regions, including Moscow, the drones were allegedly flying towards the Russian capital. According to Russian media, which cite Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, they were allegedly shot down by air defense forces in the Kolomna and Ramenskoye urban districts. Subsequently, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also reported that allegedly Russian air defense forces shot down two unmanned aerial vehicles in the Podolsk district. As noted earlier, according to him, they were flying in the direction of Moscow.

In turn, locals in Podolsk complain that they heard at least 4 explosions. According to preliminary data, it was loud for residents of Klimovsk as well. Later, Sobyanin reported the downing of another UAV in the Troitsky administrative district of Moscow.

At the same time, Rosaviatsiya announced that Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports were temporarily closed for departures and arrivals. According to the information released, restrictions in the region were introduced at approximately 00:22. Vnukovo airport later joined them.

Also in Russian Bryansk they reported a hit on the territory of the Kremniy EL plant. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of microelectronics in Russia, which produces parts for radar and electronic warfare systems, Iskander missile systems and Pantsir air defense systems.

On the night of January 24, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Ryazan , locals complained of a massive drone attack. The city has an oil refinery, near which a fire was visible.

Let us add that, according to preliminary information, in addition to the Ryazan Oil Refinery, unmanned aerial vehicles also attacked the largest local thermal power plant, Novo-Ryazanskaya. It provides centralized heat and electricity for more than 40 industrial enterprises in the Russian city, including the largest enterprises in the Southern Industrial Hub.

Note that on the evening of January 23, after 19:30 Kyiv time, local Telegram channels in Kursk wrote that explosions were heard in the city. Propagandists immediately rushed to reassure city residents that, supposedly, “air defense was working there.” At the same time, the Russians themselves subsequently wrote that “one of the most massive raids in recent times” was carried out on the city. Also, a large number of unknown good drones were recorded in the sky over Kursk and the region.

According to 24 Channel sources, the SBU, together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces Special Operations Forces, struck one of the largest oil refineries in Russia – the Ryazan Oil Refinery, as well as the Ryazan Thermal Power Plant. As a result of the attack, fuel tanks, a fuel hydrotreatment shop, and other facilities caught fire.

The Ryazan Oil Refinery is one of the largest in Russia, capable of processing up to 17 million tons of oil per year. As a result of the attack, at least three tanks caught fire, and the fire engulfed a shop with diesel fuel and aviation kerosene hydrotreatment units. Eyewitnesses recorded more than 50 explosions that thundered on the territory of the enterprise.

In addition, drones also “visited” the Ryazan oil pumping station and thermal power plant.

The SBU, together with the Defense Forces, continues to introduce effective “drone sanctions” against enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex and the oil sector in the Russian rear. Work to weaken the enemy's military capabilities will continue in the future, the department reported.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the microelectronics plant “Silicon El” in Bryansk was also hit. This is one of the key enterprises of the microelectronic industry of Russia.

This plant produces a wide range of microcircuits and components that are used in strategically important weapons systems. In particular, in the Topol-M and Bulava missile systems, the S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as in the on-board electronics of combat aircraft. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the results of the defeat are being clarified.
