Large-scale forest fire in Transcarpathia/State Emergency Service
A large-scale fire is raging on Mount Savchyn in Transcarpathia – a forest caught fire. The local population is also involved in extinguishing the fire.

At present, 200 people and 20 pieces of equipment have been involved in extinguishing the fire.
The fire on the mountain lasts at least a day
Information about the fire on Mount Savchyn was received on August 12. At 16.25 the fire was localized on an area of about 25 hectares. The total area affected by fire is 90 hectares.
Extinguishing is complicated by hard-to-reach mountainous terrain (average height is about 500 meters).
Rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Transcarpathia in the amount of 102 people and 16 pieces of equipment, 75 specialists and 2 pieces of equipment were involved in the extinguishing from the forest guard, 29 National Guardsmen and one piece of equipment. The local population is also involved. A tent of the Red Cross has been set up, the message says.
Aviation has also been involved in extinguishing the fire
The aviation of the State Emergency Service is dumping water on the fires. Since the beginning of the liquidation work, 60 such discharges have already been made.
In addition, the State Emergency Service and the regional forest and hunting economy conducted aerial reconnaissance of the fire in order to determine further ways to overcome the fire element.
