Railroad workers put the locomotive on the tracks all day. Why exactly the accident occurred is unknown, the police are investigating the case.
According to the prosecutor's office, the accident occurred on the night of February 18-19 near the railway bridge across the Turia River in Kovel. However, law enforcement officers commented on the incident only on Monday, February 20.
The local publication Kovel.Media reports that the locomotive collapsed at an angle of 45 degrees, approximately 200 meters from the railway bridge. The first car also tipped, but was held up by an electric pylon. The locomotive, assigned to the Kovel locomotive depot, was completely lifted and put on the rails on February 19 at about 20:00.

“The Kovel District Prosecutor's Office procedurally manages the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of railway transport,” the report says.< /p>

Terrible road accident in Volyn
