Kursk operation could be the end of Putin: British colonel forecasts

by alex

The operation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region may well be the beginning of the end for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in 2025, as happened with Adolf Hitler in 1943.

This is the opinion of the author of a column in The Telegraph and former British Army officer, Gamish de Bretton-Gordon.

Why the Kursk operation will be the end of Putin

Ukraine is now in a much better strategic position than Russia, according to a retired British army colonel.

— Putin has said he will return Russian land in Kursk, which Ukrainian troops seized in force last summer, by Christmas. But that looks like another psychological blow to his dictatorship, Bretton-Gordon suggested.

Russia's history leaves little hope for failed dictators, a British colonel has said. At the same time, the stakes in the war are rising on both sides.

Bretton-Gordon is optimistic about the situation in Kursk, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently launched new attacks on Russian forces, which were preceded by the defeat of the 810th Russian Marine Brigade and significant losses among North Korean soldiers.

In his opinion, the Russian front in Kursk looks very shaky, and Ukraine can not only hold its positions, but also achieve new successes, since the Russian Federation does not have enough equipment to impede the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

— Putin realizes that Trump is unlikely to make concessions to him after his inauguration on January 20. Judging by the mood coming from Trump's team, Putin will have to accept a deal that will probably be in Ukraine's favor. Or he should be prepared for Trump to fully side with Zelensky, he believes.

The British colonel is convinced that NATO members must maintain pressure on Russia in order to not give Putin a single chance.

He concluded that the prospects for Ukraine will be encouraging if the West maintains restraint.
