Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on countries to decide on security guarantees for Ukraine.

According to Kuleba, the world owes Ukraine's safety.

Ukraine abandoned nuclear weapons around the world in the name of peace. Then we knocked on the door of NATO, but they never opened. The security vacuum has led to Russian aggression,” the Foreign Minister tweeted.

Therefore, Ukraine asks the states to decide what security guarantees they are ready to provide.

Security Guarantees Treaty

Recall that earlier the Ukrainian side, during negotiations with Russia, proposed signing a new international treaty on security guarantees.

Ukraine wants to receive security guarantees from the signatory countries, which will be tougher than Article 5 of NATO on collective defense.

The treaty stipulates that this should be assistance through armaments, the intervention of the armed forces, etc. Guarantor countries have a maximum of 72 hours for consultations.
