Kuleba said when Putin will go to negotiations

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that from 2014 to 2022, “200 rounds of discussions” were held with the Kremlin. According to the minister, some:

  • supported peace negotiations because of their naive attitude towards them;
  • others “played for Putin”;
  • still others – “they didn’t understand Russia” and its president. They mistakenly believed that it was necessary to negotiate with the devil.

Putin will enter into serious negotiations only then when his military position is “close to collapse.” To achieve this, Ukraine must pursue a dual strategy: “success on the battlefield” and the creation of a coalition of countries that will support President Zelensky’s peace formula, which includes the withdrawal of Russian troops, reparations and a tribunal for war crimes, Kuleba said in an interview.

The minister also explained to foreign journalists the decision to suspend consular services for men liable for military service. Dmitry Kuleba called it unacceptable for those who are outside the country to “sit in restaurants” while others are dying.
