Hungary's current position on blocking Ukraine's accession to the European Union due to the issue of national minorities does not affect the possible opening of accession negotiations in December 2023.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba during a briefing in Brussels.
According to the head of the department, it is no secret that the issue of national minorities is fundamentally promoted by Hungary and precisely from the Hungarian point of view.

According to Bloomberg, the European Commission will likely recommend that member states begin formal negotiations after completing reforms and adopting legislation on minorities, anti-corruption, as well as “deoligarchization” and lobbying.
