He noted that it is impossible to overestimate the positive impact of the recent decision of the European Commission, which recommended opening negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

“Thanks to the positive recommendation of the European Commission, Ukrainians felt that our struggle was not in vain, that our efforts were recognized. “We count on the unanimous support of your leaders in December, when the European Council meets to decide on opening negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU,” he said.

Kuleba assured that Ukraine is making every effort to make a decision on the framework of negotiations and recalled that on the day the European Commission published the report, President Vladimir Zelensky signed a corresponding decree on preparations for negotiations.

Ukraine's military needs

Among Ukraine’s priority military needs, Kuleba highlighted combat aviation, artillery systems, MLRS, armored vehicles, tanks, ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, radars, drones, long-range missiles and other positions. He called for increased military support and reduced delivery times.

In addition, the Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of further strengthening short-, medium- and long-range air and missile defense and the provision of appropriate ammunition.

“We are grateful for all the support provided.” We are counting on receiving the eighth tranche under the Peace Fund and the creation of a special fund within the European Peace Fund for €20 billion to help Ukraine. It is also important to accelerate the implementation of the joint EU plan to provide 1 million artillery ammunition,” Kuleba said.
