In short about 6 packages of sanctions
- The European Union has developed the sixth package of sanctions against Russia. Among other restrictions, it also includes an embargo on gas supplies from Russia to European countries. In particular, this will hit the Russian economy, because the aggressor country will not receive a lot of funds in the budget.
- In particular, the media wrote that in the first two months of the war alone, Russia earned $62 billion from gas sales, oil and coal. Moreover, most of the money was sent by the EU countries.
- According to the press, in 2021 alone, Moscow received 140 billion euros from the EU, that is, 12 billion euros per month.
- May 27 in Deputy Head of the Office of the President Igor Zhovkva said that without a decision on the embargo of Russian oil, the 6th package of sanctions would not be needed. In particular, it is known that the pro-Russian authorities in Hungary are blocking the process.
