Kremlin divided over whether to continue war – Budanov

by alex

Discord continues to be sown within Russia. The Kremlin cannot unequivocally decide whether to continue the big war unleashed last year against Ukraine.

This was emphasized during an interview by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry, Kirill Budanov. He noted that the discord in the Kremlin was due to the fact that many finally realized the deviation of Moscow from the planned course.

Not everyone is ready for “war to the end”

Kirill Budanov stressed that there is no unanimity among the top leadership of Russia. Part supports the continuation of the war, and the other part is waiting for it to finally end. According to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, not so many representatives of the leadership of the aggressor country are in favor of a “war to the end” .

For the most part, people who advocate this, let's say, because of this desire, they have a banal fear of responsibility. Because there are a certain number of people who will not be able to say that it was without us that the decision was made that it was not us. There are very few of them, by the way, – he emphasized.

Russia is not ready to admit defeat

At the same time, it should be understood that Russia cannot articulate that failure is inevitable. This would shake the chair under Putin, as well as his regime. Therefore, part of the top of the aggressor country, which does not support the continuation of the war, is simply waiting. She tends to wait until the situation changes.

“Everyone is waiting for a certain moment when, let’s say, that tower of the Kremlin, which stands for an unequivocal war, figuratively speaking, hits the wall and admits that, well, it doesn’t work. This is a dead end, as they say … We will see how events will follow “, he stressed.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense stressed that there would be no understanding inside the Kremlin. At least not yet, until Ukraine takes decisive action.

Is Russia ready for a “war for a decade”

This question was also answered by the head of the GUR MO. According to Kirill Budanov, Russia is not ready for long-term hostilities. She has limited resources. And the Kremlin is well aware of this.

He also noted that over the next three months there will be active operations in the battlefield. The head of the GUR MO emphasized that the course of events in the future would depend on them. In the meantime, there will be dynamics in the battle both on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the enemy.
