Donald Trump expressed interest in concluding an agreement with Ukraine on obtaining rare earth resources in exchange for arms supplies. In Russia, this idea was perceived negatively.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's representative Dmitry Peskov expressed his opinion on this matter. This was reported by 24 Channel with reference to Russian propaganda media.

How did Russia react

Peskov called US President Donald Trump's offer to help Ukraine in exchange for access to rare earth resources “a purchase of aid.”

To call a spade a spade, this is an offer to buy aid. Not to continue to provide it free of charge, but to provide it on a commercial basis, – said the representative of the dictator.

The best option, in his opinion, would allegedly be to completely stop aid to Kyiv. According to him, this would allegedly contribute to the “end of this conflict”.

Note that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also criticized the idea of the American leader Donald Trump to provide Ukraine with military aid in exchange for its minerals.

He justified this by the fact that accepting such an exchange would be “very selfish and very egocentric” on the part of Washington, since Ukraine could finance its restoration with these resources.
