Many people commented with surprise on Henry Kissinger's words that the Ukrainians fought heroically, and now they must wisely cede territory to Russia. Like, how is it, 90 days of war, and here it is. I am surprised at your surprise.
The same many somehow do not want to accept the unpleasant truth at all. Here in general. I have already written about this like a parrot eleven times.
Ukraine violated all plans
In the fall, Ukraine (represented by the military-political leadership) behaved very badly and unconstructively – it refused to quietly surrender to Russia. She refused to capitulate and turn into a big ORDLO.
As before, she refused to surrender in the negotiations. Although we were very convincingly “warned”. They didn’t give weapons, they didn’t impose preventive sanctions, but they “warned” from all irons.
In February, we behaved even worse, but not only the authorities, but, first of all, the army and the people as a whole. All of us stupidly did not understand the hints and did not give up in 3 days. Our diplomats are already telling in plain text what their European partners told them in the face: relax, be patient, in a few hours you will no longer be there, why exacerbate? . And now it's not very clear what to do with us.
A new strategy
It looks like leaving us alone and forcing us to surrender – looks bad.
Moreover, the societies of different countries are really imbued with our resistance to Mordor, which they are wildly afraid of. These societies need to change the picture. A change in the picture begins through a change in discourse.
Therefore, through the mouths of various political pensioners and statesmen of the past who forgot to take their pills, they form a fork in which, on the one hand, there is a nuclear war (light version: global decline, famine, migration shock, China’s offensive and and so on), and on the other hand, the truncation of Ukrainian territory (minimum – as of February 24, maximum – without Donetsk, Lugansk and the entire south, including Odessa).
And now we are seeing how the flywheel of accustoming people to this idea is spinning up.
Many specially created crises, as well as organically arising problems, will be used as stimulants.
The most frontal: on against the backdrop of Dodon’s arrest, they will try to rock Molodova, a little later they will make hints about the war in the Balkans a reality. That is, Moscow will form the motivation to negotiate, inciting “firefighters” in Europe.
Opposing capitulators
It should be noted that not everyone in the West is ready to go along with Moscow, otherwise we would have been finished off by now. There are entire countries and friendly groups of influence whose interests coincide with ours.
Therefore, do not get hung up on the outpourings of senile people with big names. The war is on many fronts. There will be fighting on all fronts to improve Ukraine's position in future negotiations.
The fiercer our resistance and the smarter we work with partners and their societies, the more motivated we are to appease the Kremlin with other trophies.
An offhand example
Georgia is losing in the eyes of Moscow the potential of a service country to bypass sanctions, so it can be reclassified into a small, but at least some kind of trophy.
If a referendum on joining Russia is stirred up in South Ossetia, they can easily arrange a “special operation” to successfully defend the new “subject of the federation” from the Georgian “Benderites” and “fascists”.
