Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhiy Kyslytsya recalled the terrible war crimes Russia in Ukraine and criticized the UN Security Council for inaction.
Russia fires on civilians
He stated this at the meeting of the UN Security Council, which considered the issues of Ukraine. He recalled that Russia had already fired more than 2,000 missiles, and most of them hit civilian, not military infrastructure.
They want to break us, but the only thing that will break ultimately it is Russia and its ability to break in, bomb, kill, loot and rape. Russia's missile terrorism must be punished and responded with increased sanctions and increased military assistance to Ukraine, the representative of Ukraine said.
Deportation of Ukrainians
According to him, Russia also forcibly took over a million Ukrainians to the most depressed regions of Russia, where they go through “filtration camps”. There are many children among the deported – about 193,000. He called for help to return the illegally taken away Ukrainians.
Theft of food and the threat of hunger
“To date, Russia has stolen about 400 thousand tons of grain from the temporarily occupied regions of Zaporozhye, Kherson, Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which is one third of all stocks in these regions. Considering that the stolen grain should be used for the next harvest, this has already increased the threat of famine “- said Kislytsya.
So he stressed that Russia is attacking grain elevators, agricultural infrastructure and fertilizer warehouses, and also continues to plunder agricultural equipment. All this, according to the permanent representative, threatens global food security. In this In connection with this, he called on the world community to strengthen economic sanctions against the Russian Federation.
He stressed that due to the war in Ukraine, according to the UN, more than 1.7 billion people in the world may be at risk of poverty and hunger in result of failures in the food production system.
UN inaction
He ended his speech by pointing to the inaction of the Security Council and its ” the ability to only express deep concern” about the situation in Ukraine, which, in his opinion, irritates the international community and undermines its authority.
