Police have detained a suspect in the murder of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. He was found at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

He matches the description of the man the police were looking for. This was reported by Channel 24 with reference to CNN.

Details of the arrest of the businessman's killer

26-year-old Luigi Mangione has been arrested on suspicion of “the brazen murder of Brian Thompson,” said New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

The man was arrested at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He was carrying a pistol and a silencer that match the gun used in the killing.

He matches the description of the man police were looking for. He also has several items that we believe may link him to this incident, said New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Police also found “a handwritten document that speaks to his motivation and mindset,” Tish said, as well as “a counterfeit New Jersey ID that matches the ID the suspect used to check into a hostel in New York City.”

Recall that United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot dead in downtown New York. The incident occurred near the Hilton Hotel in Manhattan. The attacker deliberately waited for Thompson, fired from a distance of about 6 meters and escaped on a bicycle.
