Ukrainian hockey player Makar Erofeev died in the war with the Russian occupiers. He was 22 years old.
The Ukrainian Hockey Federation reported this on its page on the social network Facebook.
Erofeev died on November 11 in the Donetsk region near the village of Andreevka, near Bakhmut, while performing a combat mission. He was deputy commander of the reconnaissance company of the 92nd separate assault brigade.

Makar’s older brother, Anton Erofeev, said that during the retreat, he and his brothers-in-arms carried the wounded man. Makar did not leave the wounded man until the last, despite the shelling. He was killed by a mortar shell.
— Makar was the most heroic person I know. Stoic, he took everything lightly, except war, had a good philosophical vision of a warrior, taught me. Our family had no greater fear than the death of Makar. There are no words to describe the tragedy of your death, brother. But as long as I live, I will avenge you, Erofeev Makar,” said his brother Anton.
Makar Erofeev took part in the defense of Kharkov, drove the enemy away from Chuguev, and commanded units during the Balakleya-Kupyansk operation.
While performing one of the tasks, the athlete was wounded, but escaped from the hospital and joined the battles north of Bakhmut, stopped the Wagnerites and organized assaults near Andreevka.
Before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Erofeev played for several Dnieper hockey teams, in particular Zenit, Yastrebov and Aurora.
