On the night of August 25, Russian invaders continued to “greet” Ukrainians on Independence Day with rocket attacks. In particular, explosions were heard in the Kyiv region, Mykolaiv region and Kharkiv.
Please note that the occupiers, despite forecasts, did not shell Kyiv on August 24, channel 24 reports. According to Alexei Arestovich, a freelance adviser to the Office of the President, the Russians seem to have somewhat exhausted their stocks of missiles and are not interested in escalation, and most importantly, what they want is a truce.
On the night after Independence Day, the Russians continued shelling
Around 03:00 on August 25, an air alert was announced in many eastern and central regions of Ukraine due to another threat of enemy shelling. Soon, explosions began to be reported in a number of cities:
- At first they were heard in the Kyiv region. Local residents noticed that the explosions were numerous. In addition, they heard the sounds of fighter planes flying. Most likely, the rockets were launched from the territory of Belarus, namely from the Gomel region.
- Subsequently, explosions threw in Nikolaev. They began to be reported at 3:25.
- Already half an hour later, explosions were heard in Kharkov.
- The Russians also fired at Krivoy Rog from a Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system. This information has already been confirmed by the head of the military administration Alexander Vilkul.
Please note that there is no official confirmation of enemy “arrivals” in Kharkov and Nikolaev yet. As of 5:15 a.m., the air raid alert was canceled everywhere, except for the Luhansk region and the Nikopol community of Dnepropetrovsk region.
Which settlements were shelled by the invaders on Independence Day
According to the “Operational Armed Forces of Ukraine”, after numerous reports of an air raid alert on August 24, a wave of fake reports of explosions in Bila Tserkva, Rivne, Kharkiv and the Zhytomyr region spread throughout Ukraine.
In addition, on Independence Day there were reports of fake mining of infrastructure facilities in Vinnitsa, Rivne, Lvov, Khmelnitsky and Kyiv. In turn, officially confirmed enemy shelling occurred in:
- Mirgorod, Poltava region;
- Kharkov, Malaya Danilovka, Dergachi, Kharkiv region;
- Nikopol, Sinelnikovsky, Krivorozhsky, Dneprovsky districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region;
- Shepetovsky district of the Khmelnytsky region;
- Nikolaev, Bashtansky, Bereznegovatsky, Novobugsky communities of the Nikolaev region;
- Zaporozhye, Zaporozhye region;
- Esmansky, Znob-Novgorod, Belopolsky communities of Sumy region;
- Chernihiv district of Chernihiv region;
- on the demarcation line in Donetsk region.
