Ukrainian Alexander Khizhnyak guaranteed a medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in boxing, as he reached the semi-finals of the competition.
In the weight category up to 80 kg, Khizhnyak defeated 23-year-old representative of Brazil Vanderlei De Souza Pereira by unanimous decision of the judges — 30:26, 30:26, 30:26, 30:26, 30:26.
Khizhnyak advances to Olympic semi-finals
The 28-year-old Ukrainian, who turns 29 tomorrow, started the fight actively and, despite the blows he took from his opponent, immediately went on the counterattack.
