Keeping a “Thai battalion” is a very difficult thing, – a political scientist about the scandalous trip of Tishchenko

Nikolay Tishchenko got into a scandal after journalists exposed his alleged “working visit” to Thailand. The fact that now the people's deputy accuses the media of slander gives a special cynicism to the situation.

This Channel 24 was told by political scientist Mykola Davidyuk. He recalled that Ukrainians were outraged by the trip of a former representative of the Servant of the People faction to Thailand.

Tishchenko was allegedly supposed to “improve interaction with representatives of the Ukrainian community” there.

“Thailand is indeed a very difficult front”

Davidyuk ironically noted that the People's Deputy had a lot of important things to do in Thailand.

“Keeping a Thai cauldron and a Thai battalion is a very difficult thing. You need to walk along the beach, take an assistant with you, fly together, pay for everything,” the political scientist said.

According to Tishchenko, a business trip to Thailand during the war in Ukraine, he paid at his own expense. Davidyuk noted that this created additional difficulties for the People's Deputy, because in Thailand everything has risen in price.

So many Russians went there that prices increased 3-4 times. This is indeed a very difficult front,โ€ the political scientist said.

He added that no one volunteers on this “front” and all the expenses fell on the shoulders of poor Tishchenko.

Tishchenko tries to make journalists scapegoats

Davidyuk noted that, speaking seriously, it is very strange that after all this, the people's deputy is trying to scapegoat Ukrainian journalists.

In fact, journalists provide a super service for the state. When law enforcement agencies are silent, and the rest of the deputies buy cars for millions of dollars, sit in Austria, on the Cote d'Azur or in Dubai, no one has any questions, the political scientist emphasized.

Davidyuk added that only journalists paid attention that it shouldn't be like this.

Disorder in the Verkhovna Rada

According to Davidyuk, it is very important to publish such stories about all the foreign visits of people's deputies and analyze who and how many times where and for what purpose.

“There is a mess in the parliament. The Verkhovna Rada is becoming an example of this , what not to do during the war. It is clear that the deputies want to live in a different reality, where there is Thailand and Dubai and where you can relax for months. But this cannot be,” the political scientist said.

< p>He added that cases of illegal enrichment of individual people's deputies are just as unacceptable. Davidyuk stressed that it cannot be that during the war the whole country gives everything it has, and at that time someone stuffs their pockets.

” Our task now is to defeat Russia”

He added that Ukraine now faces a very important task.

I am against rocking the boat. Our task now is to defeat Russia. All these internal stories we will win. However, of course, it is necessary to record all these stories, so that later NABU and other bodies can do this,โ€ Davidyuk noted.

He added that civil society now needs to put pressure on people's deputies to fulfill their functions. >

  • People's Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko traveled to Thailand to arrange a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community.
  • However, the meeting was announced just a day before it was held, and it was supposed to take place in a 4-star Novotel hotel, 200 meters from the embassy.
  • Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk said that he did not sign the order on business trips for Tishchenko.
  • The network reacted violently to another scandal that the deputy got into . The Anti-Corruption Action Center joked that deputy Nikolai Tishchenko “escaped from the Transcarpathian cauldron” and is holding a meeting with voters in Thailand.
  • After the scandal with Tishchenko's trip, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution prohibiting male officials from traveling abroad in personal purposes.
