Now there are about 2,500 Kadyrovites in the Kherson region. They do not take a direct part in the hostilities, but catch deserters and severely punish them for trying to escape.
Kadyrov's soldiers torture deserters
< p>Vladimir Molchanov, an activist from Kherson, told this to Channel 24. He noted that half of all these Kadyrovites were brought to the Kherson region recently.
According to the activist, Kadyrov's fighters concentrated not in Kherson, but in the villages and towns around Perekop, Sivash and Chongar. There they hunt deserters, who are brutally tortured and killed – shot, their throats cut and their heads cut off.
It should be noted that they only do this with those mobilized from the quasi-republics in the occupied Donbas, because they are absolutely powerless and must ” to pay military debt to the native republic for its protection on the territory of the Kherson region”.
At the same time, the Russians, if they have already ended up in Kherson or New Kakhovka, can simply write a report, and the Kadyrovites will not threaten them. Molchanov believes that if they used the same repressions in the regular Russian troops, then their leadership would not like it. Moreover, such a mass desertion among Russians, as among the Donetsk mobilized, has not yet been observed in the Kherson region.
It will be here, as it was in the Kharkiv direction, but before that, it is necessary to determine the directions so that they understand what awaits them, – the activist suggested.
Kadyrovtsy are afraid to be shot down
Consequently, the function of the Kadyrovites in the Kherson region is quite limited. They are not the traditional barrage squads or the second echelon that shoots in the back of the first if he tries to escape. Molchanov noted that the Kadyrovites probably do not want to do this, because they are afraid that they will be hit. They prefer to be where there is much less chance of getting shot.
Including, in addition to catching and torturing deserters, they have one more thing to do – they intercept those who flee with the loot on civilian transport. It could also be Russians, not just Donetsk mobilized ones.
“Very convenient. I intercepted it – either scammed it for some money, like a “kickback”, or simply took everything that was there and let it go lightly “, – said Molchanov.
