One might get the impression that Russia is allocating a lot of money to Chechnya because dictator Vladimir Putin is afraid of the head there, Ramzan Kadyrov. But it's not. Everything is somewhat different.
Human rights activist, lawyer Abubakar Yangulbaev told Channel 24 about this. According to him, the Kremlin is indeed allocating impressive sums for Chechnya itself. The region strongly “sits” on this money.
Is Putin really afraid of Kadyrov?
As Yangulbaev explained, there is no way in Kadyrov to influence Vladimir Putin. He is incapable of killing him or attempting to assassinate him. Russia is allocating significant money to Chechnya not because of Putin's fear of Kadyrov.
Kadyrov is Putin's “creation”. In a psychological sense, he raised him and became a “second father” for him, Yangulbaev noted.
The Kremlin is allocating a lot of money in Chechnya to keep the region in the hands of Kadyrov and his government, as well as within the country. After all, the separation of at least one subject from Russia will entail serious problems for the regime. Then other “republics” can try to gain independence.
Putin gives money to feed the local authorities and the army. This keeps Chechnya within Russia. Of course, Kadyrov gets it too. This is increasingly going to keep the dictatorship and violence in the region. But not out of fear. No, – said Yangulbaev.
Kadyrov may have health problems
- The German publication Bild suggests that Ramzan Kadyrov may have serious health problems. This is indicated by his appearance.
- As noted in the material, over the past few months, Kadyrov has gained a lot and is seriously swollen. This may be indicative of his kidney problems.
- Former Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya Akhmad Zakayev, who lives in exile, claims that Kadyrov even brought a doctor from the UAE. He does not trust Russian doctors.
