At the same time, he did not say whether such an aid package for Ukraine would include tough reforms in the field of border security.
In addition, Johnson talked about creating a tool that would allow the confiscation of Russian assets in favor of Ukraine.
Republican Senator John Cornyn after talking with Johnson said that he “is quite optimistic” regarding the House of Representatives sending the Ukraine aid package to the Senate.
— I heard the speaker say: “We will not leave Ukraine empty-handed” or something like that, — he noted.
Senator Kevin Cramer also confirmed that the Speaker has clearly stated his intention to help Ukraine.
Johnson himself told reporters that he “will work on an aid package for Ukraine”.
— Nobody wants Vladimir Putin to win. I believe that he will not stop at Ukraine… and will go across all of Europe, — he said.
House Republicans are “working through all possible options right now”, he said, and he warned that what they ultimately agree on may not look like as a draft adopted by the Senate.
