Johnson may soon arrive in Ukraine

Former British Prime Minister and good friend of Ukraine Boris Johnson may soon visit Ukraine. During the trip, the politician may meet with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

The press writes about Johnson's alleged visit, but there has been no official confirmation from him yet. His spokesman declined to comment.

Johnson told friends he intended to leave for Kyiv in the coming months to show his public support for the country against its Russian aggressors. Ukrainian sources also said that he intended to go to Kyiv, but there is no concrete information on the dates yet. They added that Zelensky and Johnson consider each other friends.

At the same time, the media suggest that such a trip may cause concern among high-ranking conservatives. They are concerned that the visit could undermine Rishi Sunak's authority.

Downing Street was not aware of the planned trip, although government insiders said they were comfortable with Sunak's predecessor representing the UK in this way.

This trip will be Johnson's fourth visit.

This trip of Boris Johnson to Kyiv will be the fourth. For the first time it was in April almost immediately after Russian troops retreated from the capital of Ukraine.

The second time he suddenly arrived in June and returned again in August on the Independence Day of Ukraine.

Love of Ukrainians for Boris “Johnsonyuk”

For strong support and courageous visits to military Kyiv, Johnson is very sympathetic to the Ukrainians. Jokingly, his last name is called in the Ukrainian way – Johnsonyuk.

The politician's phrase “Good afternoon, everybody” also became winged – he demonstrated his command of Ukrainian during one of his visits. Subsequently, he changed it somewhat, congratulating the Ukrainians on the New Year holidays.
