Japan will allocate 15.8 billion yen ($106 million) for the restoration of Ukraine in seven areas that suffered from hostilities initiated by Russia.
In particular, these funds will be used to restore infrastructure and demining Ukrainian territories.

The two governments are expected to agree on Japan's participation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and sign more than 10 memorandums of cooperation at a conference on February 19 in Tokyo.
Japanese journalists have indicated that the Tokyo summit will take place on the eve of the second anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, at a time when concerns are growing about the decline in Western military support for Kiev.
According to sources, these funds will be used to purchase demining equipment and temporary bridges, as well as other resources urgently needed to assist the reconstruction efforts of our country, which has suffered from Russian attacks.
Funding from Japan also provides:
- expansion of agriculture;
- improving the humanitarian situation,
- biotechnology and industrial development;
- information technology,
- improving governance and anti-corruption measures.
Recall that in January Tokyo allocated $37 million to help Ukraine, which will be used to purchase systems for detecting drones.
