The Foreign Ministry of the neighboring state considers unacceptable the “threats” of Ukraine through this transcontinental oil pipeline. This was stated by the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Tamas Menzer.
Hungary's reaction to Ukraine's statement on the Druzhba oil pipeline
The Hungarian State Secretary of Foreign Affairs called such statements by Ukraine “shocking” and at the same time descended to help his country to Ukrainian refugees.
This statement is especially shocking given that Hungary is doing everything possible to help the refugees. More than 730 thousand people from Ukraine have already come to us and Hungary has made countless offers of help (Ukraine – ed. Channel 24) to those who are still there, – said Tamas Menzer.
In particular , the Hungarian official added that Budapest will strong>not support the decisions of the European Union, which “endanger Hungary's energy security”.
Mentser once again repeated the mantra that about 65% of oil in his country comes exactly from Russia, and Hungarian oil refineries are supposedly capable of processing exclusively the energy resource produced on the territory of the aggressor country.

Advisor to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Olena Zerkal at an online meeting at the Kyiv Security Forum on May 26 stressed that Hungary took advantage of the situation of Russia's war against Ukraine and is now trying to blackmail the European Union.
Given that Hungary is blocking the oil embargo under the sixth package of sanctions against Russia, according to Zerkal, Ukraine could use her leverage – Druzhba oil pipeline . One of the branches of this energy resource supply system goes through the territory of our state separately to Hungary.
In my opinion, it would be very appropriate if with it (the channel) “something happened” … Do we really want to speak with Orban in the language that he understands and which he imposes on the European Union, or are we not ready for this yet, – Zerkal emphasized.
