US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized billionaire Elon Musk's idea to form a new political force, the America Party, and called his idea pointless.
Trump criticizes Musk
He told reporters this in New Jersey before boarding the presidential plane to Washington, Fox News reports.
“I think it’s pointless to create a third party,” Trump said, commenting on Musk’s plans.
The head of the White House emphasized that the Republican Party is demonstrating great success, while the Democrats, in his words, “have lost their way.”

At the same time, Trump believes that the United States has traditionally had a two-party system, and any attempts to create a third force will only “add confusion.”
“The political system in America was designed for two parties, and third parties have never worked. He (Musk – Ed.) can have fun with it, but I think it's pointless,” Trump added.
And on his social network Truth, Trump declared that Elon Musk had “completely lost his mind.”
“I'm sad to see Elon Musk completely 'off the rails,'” the US president wrote.
Trump noted that Musk has become a “train wreck” over the past five weeks.
Meanwhile, American billionaire Elon Musk said that he is already making efforts to develop his own political force, America Party, and is thinking about holding the party’s founding convention.
“When and where should we hold the first convention of the American Party? It will be a lot of fun!” billionaire H. wrote on social media.
Musk posted his message the day after he announced the formal launch of the America Party. According to his plan, the new political force should create a counterweight to the two-party system in American government bodies.
Musk announced the creation of his own party
Let us recall that the day before, Elon Musk announced the creation of the American Party (America Party) after conducting a survey on the social network X about the need for a new political force.
His comments came a day after President Donald Trump signed a tax cut and spending bill that Musk has sharply criticized.
Musk previously invested hundreds of millions of dollars in Trump's re-election campaign and led his administration's Office of Government Effectiveness, which focused on cutting government spending.
