Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has criticized US aid to Ukraine. He also doubts whether the United States should even participate in the war.
Also, in his opinion, the United States should not “go to war with China.” Thus, the Republicans condemned Joe Biden for visiting Kiev.I don't think it's in our interest to engage in a proxy war with China by getting involved in such things,” DeSantis said, referring to the territories of Ukraine that Russia has seized militarily.
Remarks made in connection with the visit Biden to Kiev, were some of DeSantis' most direct comments about US involvement in the war since the start of February 24, 2022.
When asked what victory looks like, DeSantis replied that Russia was “wounded and suffered huge losses,” without recognizing the role played by American weapons and military intelligence.
Biden's rival added that Russia allegedly does not pose a threat “on the same level as China.”
“There is no fear that Russia will join the NATO countries. I think that it has already shown itself as a third-rate military force,” DeSantis stressed.
