It’s like farting on a tree: Fico ridiculed the Slovaks who raised €4 million for ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico said that the €4 million collected by citizens for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine will allegedly still not change the situation. He used the Czech simile, which means “to fart into a tree”.

Scandalous statement by the Prime Minister of Slovakia

According to Noviny, Robert Fico recently gave an interview to the JOJ24 TV channel. The correspondent asked him about his attitude to the initiative to raise funds for ammunition for Ukraine.

As the publication writes, at first the Prime Minister of Slovakia wanted to avoid answering. He later stated that people have the right to think that bullets and bombs are more important than helping cancer patients in Slovakia.

— If we had said that we would do a fundraiser for cancer patients, we probably wouldn’t have raised so much, — states the Slovak politician.

In his opinion, the funds allocated by the United States and the European Union for military assistance to Ukraine supposedly will not change anything.

— In a year or two it will be the same. All the money will be spent, perhaps something will be stolen. Nothing will change in Ukraine. We will be where we are. This is my position. I will still give preference to a peaceful solution, a ceasefire at any cost, — he said.

In response to the NGO Peace for Ukraine, which was among the initiators of the fundraiser, stated that Robert Fico insulted all supporters of the initiative.

Among them — 99-year-old Otto Szymek, who took part in the 1944 uprising against the pro-Nazi regime of Josef Tiso, says Tyzden.

— Everyone knows that helping Slovakia will not end the war in Ukraine. But it is important to make it clear that we are on the right side of history. This was also made possible thanks to more than 61 thousand donors, — responded to the organization.
