A scandal occurred in the Polish Sejm on December 12th. Thus, Grzegorz Braun, a deputy of the Ukrainian-phobic Confederation party, grabbed a fire extinguisher and extinguished the Hanukkah menorah.

According to Polish media, the Sejm hosted Hanukkah celebration. The incident itself occurred in the afternoon, when the newly elected Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk was asked questions.

At some point, Grzegorz Braun grabbed a powder fire extinguisher. With it, he demonstratively extinguished the Hanukkah menorah, which outraged those gathered and not only. The corridors of the Seim were also covered with a powder fire extinguisher.

Shame! A member of the Polish parliament just did this. A few minutes after we celebrated Hanukkah there, the Israeli Ambassador to Poland Yakov Livne reacted to the incident. . After this, Speaker Shimon Golovnya decided to expel him from the meeting. It is also known that the hearing had to be interrupted.

“Based on Article 175, paragraph 5, I decide to expel you from the Sejm meeting. According to the rules of the Sejm, I ask you to leave the meeting room,” I addressed Grzegorz Braun Gołowna.

Speaking to journalists, Golovnya noted that Brown grossly violated public order on the territory of the Sejm Chancellery. This means that the Presidium of the Sejm can meet to accept financial punishment for the deputy.

Golovnya also expressed “deep regret about what happened.” He added that a complaint would be filed against Brown with the prosecutor’s office . Probably under an article providing for violation of religious rites.

This is a shame. This is unacceptable. “This must not happen again,” Prime Minister Donald Tusk briefly commented on the incident.

What preceded the scandal

  • Note that on Tuesday Brown made a repost on his page on the X network. He complained about the presence of Jewish symbols in the parliament building.< /strong>
  • Let us recall that the “Confederation” is an anti-European and anti-Ukrainian political force. Grzegorz Braun himself previously called for “stopping the Banderization of Poland.” He also indignantly expressed that “the Germans and Jews will not teach us history.”
  • But that’s not all. Brown is also known for his pro-Russian views. Russian media often quotes him. He was also the only deputy who, at the beginning of the year, did not vote for a resolution calling on the EU and NATO to help Ukraine resist the war with Russia. Brown was also involved in the anti-Ukrainian rally in Warsaw. True, no one came to see it.
