Ukrainian gymnast Vlada Nikolchenko apologized for a scandalous post on the social network Instagram, in which she spoke negatively about Poland and its residents.

Nikolchenko published a new message on the social network, in which she wrote that she posted a negative post due to a “psychological breakdown caused by stress” due to the war in Ukraine.

— I had a psychological breakdown… With every conflict, even a side conflict, because of the war in my country, stress arises and comes out of me without my permission in such an aggressive form. It was a situational emotion that I regret, I didn’t want to offend anyone,” Nikolchenko wrote.

The day before, Nikolchenko spoke negatively about Poland and the people of the country.

While at the Warsaw airport, she posted an emotional message on Instagram Stories, in which she stated that she hated Poland and the Poles because they “ruined her mood.”

The former general secretary of the Polish Gymnastics Federation, Piotr Dec, reacted to her words. He wrote that he was outraged by the current situation.

— In November, Vlada Nikolchenko conducted a master class in Warsaw during the rhythmic gymnastics tournament Warsaw Autumn 2023. She also participated in this tournament. Now she says: “I hate this country, most of all the people who live here,” he wrote.

He added that he hopes Nikolchenko will not have to “go through the Polish horror again.”

Soon he updated the post, saying that the President of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation, Irina Deryugina, apologized for Nikolchenko’s words. He also personally received an apology from the vice-president of the Federal State Institution, Irina Blokhina.
