Vladimir Zelensky visited London and Paris on February 8, and on February 9 he delivered a speech and was greeted with a standing ovation in European Parliament. Apparently, after that, Ukraine will begin to receive combat aircraft, similar to how tanks were announced at one time.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov said this in his stream, reports 24 Channel. He noted that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had already instructed the Minister of Defense of the country to prepare a proposal on the transfer of military aviation to Ukraine. /h2>
Zhdanov noted that following Zelensky's first major European tour, a number of countries announced new packages of military assistance to Ukraine. Everything is expected, but even much more than expected.
It turns out that the issue is being resolved at the level that the transfer of aviation equipment to us is already pouring into the same parade as it was with tanks, – said the military expert.
After all, he reminded, then everyone wanted to give us tanks – at least a small amount. Something similar is happening with airplanes now.
Zhdanov on the prospects for obtaining Western aviation and long-range missiles: watch the video that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak ordered the country's defense minister to prepare a proposal for the transfer of military aviation to Ukraine. It was about the Tornado or Typhoon aircraft. Their peculiarity is that they are a launch platform for Storm Shadow missiles.
According to him, this is a cruise missile with a launch range of 560 kilometers, but with the possibility of increasing this range to 1,000 kilometers. One can imagine what opportunities the Armed Forces of Ukraine will get with such a missile if it is launched from an aircraft, for example, from the border of Ukraine.
This is a modern cruise missile that was developed for use in conditions modern air defense systems and electronic warfare systems,” Zhdanov noted.
Such a missile, he explained, does an excellent job of overcoming these systems. In addition, it has a feature – it can fly at ultra-low altitudes.
If, for example, the Caliber rocket flies at an altitude of about 500 meters, then Storm Shadow can fly at an altitude of 30-40 meters, then is actually above the roofs of houses. Due to this, during the flight it will be in the dead zone of modern radar stations, especially those in service in Russia.
Zhdanov added that tactical means can catch this missile, but its speed is almost equal to the speed of sound. Therefore, if they manage to keep up, they will try to fight it, if not, Storm Shadow will simply fly past them.
