Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, millions of Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes. So finding a place to live has become extremely important to them. But there are also those who abandon their own in these difficult times.

This was emphasized by Minister Irina Vereshchuk. She noted that on July 7, a special meeting was held, which dealt with internally displaced persons. During it, the issue was raised not only of temporary housing, but also of a shelter that Ukrainians could lose.

Displaced people are starting to be evicted

Irina Vereshchuk noted that many migrants still live in schools, hospitals, sanatoriums or other places in the compact residence. All these institutions sheltered Ukrainians in the first days or weeks of the war unleashed by Russia.

At the same time, it should be noted that complaints are starting to come in from migrants. They relate to the fact that some institutions they are simply evicted.

I understand that there may be different circumstances and reasons. But it is unacceptable for people to be put directly on the street. I want the owners and heads of such institutions to hear me well now,” Vereshchuk emphasized.

She noted that only resettlement issues can be raised now. But this should also happen without worsening conditions those who had to leave their homes since the beginning of the war. As for eviction, this is out of the question at all.

The minister reminded that this is unacceptable. Even before the beginning of the autumn-winter period. Irina Vereshchuk added that it should be understood that each of us could be in the place of displaced people who lost their homes.

One more HPE assistance center has appeared in Kyiv

Recall that the day before earned another center for immigrants in Kyiv. It opened its doors in the Desnyansky district of the capital. This is already the third comprehensive consultation center for internally displaced persons.

Its staff will help IDPs complete the necessary documents, receive benefits, and find employment. They also deal with the placement of children in educational institutions and other issues that may be faced by those who had to leave their homes.
