The Verkhovna Rada will soon consider a government bill on revising the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024, according to which it is proposed to increase spending to UAH 500.3 billion, partly by increasing taxes.
The head of the budget committee Roksolana Pidlasa announced this on Facebook.
– “The full text of the government bill will be on the Verkhovna Rada website today or tomorrow,” she wrote.

Pidlasa noted that most of the funds are planned to be covered by increasing the revenue side of the state budget (+214.5 billion UAH), but 160.2 billion UAH will have to be borrowed on the domestic market.
— The government also initiated changes to the Tax Code to increase budget revenues, — added the head of the budget committee.
What will the money be used for
It is proposed to allocate an additional 495.3 billion UAH for defense needs, including:
- +185.8 billion UAH – purchases and modernization of military equipment and weapons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
- +147.2 billion UAH – Ukrainian Armed Forces,
- +48.2 billion UAH – National Guard,
- +41.9 billion UAH – State Border Service,
- +40.7 billion UAH – State Special Transport Service of the Ministry of Defense,
- +15.2 billion UAH – National Police,
- +7.5 billion UAH – GUR MO,
- +5.1 billion UAH – SBU,
- +2.8 billion UAH – State Emergency Service,
- + 503 million UAH – SVR,
- + 258.3 million UAH — State Special Communications,
- + 138.7 million UAH – UGO.
It is planned to reduce expenses by UAH 65.7 billion, including for servicing public debt – by UAH 61.8 billion and for the fulfillment by the state of guarantee obligations for borrowers who received loans under state guarantees – by 3.9 billion UAH
