The military expert also called the pseudo-vote on joining Russia a “bargaining chip.” A terrorist state would prefer to sit down at the negotiating table and end the war, because it suffers constant defeat. According to him, the announcement of the results of the “referendum” will not immediately mean the annexation of Ukrainian territories to Russia, because the State Duma will have to vote for this decision.
The inclusion of these regions in Russia will be a “bargaining item” and I will try to force Ukraine to resume negotiations on the settlement of this war. – Zhdanov said.

According to the analyst, Russia is unlikely to mobilize in the occupied territories. Residents of regions not controlled by Ukraine are not citizens of Russia. The call can only anger them and set them even more against a hostile state.
