US President Joe Biden should seek to end Russia's all-out war by arming Ukraine to win, rather than simply providing weapons to continue the protracted fight.
This was stated by former commander of the US Army in Europe and head of the Pershing Department of Strategic Studies at the Center for European Policy Analysis Ben Hodges in a column for The Telegraph.
In his opinion, the Russian Federation only benefits from the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, because it distracts the world’s attention from a full-scale war against Ukraine. He does not believe it is a coincidence that Iran, which is an ally of Moscow, is behind the groups that attacked Israel.

“There may not be any organized plan right now, but it is no mere coincidence that the world’s various villains are working together to undermine the West and its allies,” says the American general.
Hodges is convinced that China is now assessing the political will, military and industrial potential of the United States, Great Britain or other states to help Ukraine defeat Russia.
The general believes that the United States should send Ukraine ATACMS missiles with a unitary warhead with a range of 300 km to destroy Russian naval, aviation and logistics facilities in occupied Crimea.
He noted that Germany may then decide to transfer Taurus missiles with a range of 500 km to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which will have decisive potential for destroying Russian headquarters, artillery and logistics.
At the same time, Ukraine’s victory will be accelerated by the delivery of F-16 fighters to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Hodges believes. In his opinion, when the Kerch Bridge is destroyed and the Ukrainian Armed Forces aviation has proper weapons, then Ukraine will be able to reach the Sea of Azov and expel the Russian Federation.
“After this, it would be pointless to fight for Donbass: everything would be ready for victory and restoration of Ukraine,” says the former commander of the US Army in Europe.
The use of long-range weapons from Great Britain and France by the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated that the Russian Federation is not ready to respond with a nuclear strike, the American general noted.
