German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not expect the war in Ukraine to end quickly. He called on Berlin for long-term support for Kyiv, because Russian dictator Vladimir Putin hopes that the West will retreat.
He said this at the SPD federal party conference in Berlin, NTV reported.
According to him, it is important that Germany was able to support Ukraine for a long time.

He noted that by carrying out a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Russia had canceled all agreements on peace and security in Europe.
—Germany should even be prepared to do more if others weaken, — the chancellor said, perhaps alluding to the uncertain political situation in the United States ahead of next year's presidential elections.
