At the age of 93, on January 29, Dmitry Pavlychko's life ended. It is known that the Ukrainian poet, translator, literary critic and public and political figure will be buried on February 1.
This was announced by the head of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine Mikhail Sidorzhevsky.

Note that Dmitry Pavlychko died at the age of 94. He was one of the representatives of the legendary generation of the sixties. According to Mikhail Sidorzhevsky, the heart of the greatest poet stopped beating on the evening of January 29.
Pavlychko's contribution to the development of Ukraine
Dmitry Pavlychko, as a member of the sixties, was not only a creative person, but also an active participant in the political life of Ukraine, especially at the end of the existence of the USSR and after the declaration of independence of Ukraine. Pavlychko was one of the founders of the People's Movement of Ukraine and the Democratic Party of Ukraine. He was also the first chairman of the Ukrainian Language Society named after Taras Shevchenko.
In 1990, he wasone of the authors of the Declaration of State Sovereignty proclaimed by the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR on July 16. A year later, Pavlychko became one of the co-authors of the Act of Declaration of Independence and was the first to ask the then Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Leonid Kravchuk whether he supported this step.
However, Pavlychko is known not only for his political activities, but also for his legendary poetry. He was the author of a number of collections of poems, wrote sensual intimate lyrics, including the legendary “Two Colors”. This poem was set to music and it was repeatedly covered by various artists, but the performance of Dmitry Gnatyuk is considered a cult one.
